WinterCup: Cyclone finishes 2nd in the series!

Last sunday was the time for the final leg of WinterCup 2010 at Splash Arena, Tuusula, Finland. Before the last leg we were leading the series with TriThe Trophyvoga, both tied with the same points and we were the only two teams to really compete for the title. Well, sunday wasn’t our day but we still managed to get in to the semifinals and faced Trivoga. So the semifinal game was all about winning the series and this time Trivoga was a bit better and won the game 2-3. Trivoga lost the final game against Urho Musta and we won PPW Mad in the bronze game. The third place was enough for us to take the second place in the series…

Anyway this was a good practice to us for the summer and I promise we will come back stronger!

Big ups for all our opponents, our supporters and the organizers of the Winter Cup 2010!

First PSP event for 2010 is starting today in Phoenix at Glendale Youth Sports Complex. Both Semi-Pro and Pro teams start their games on Friday with first game being Seattle CDR vs SK Moscow. SK Moscow is our Millennium Series champions for 2009 and they will for sure be one of the strongest teams in Semi-Pro. First match-up in Pro is Boston Red Legion vs VICIOUS witch is gonna be another interesting match-up. Vicious moved up from Semi-Pro to Pro for 2010 and they have to benchmark themselves against 2009 champions Russian Legion. Continue reading ‘The 2010 PSP Phoenix Open starting today.’ »

Thoughts on Physical Training, Mind Games Continued

In my first post on this site, I pondered about the strains that tournaments put on our body and mind. The solution for body was covered, and is nothing new, but what about the mind? Again most of these ideas are presented in other channels, but I see them important enough for repetition.

The mental side of paintball is often thought to be a totally different animal and it’s training somewhat unquantifiable. I think this only partly right. Physical training, when done well is about getting you to push through those mental limits that we all have. This constant “overdoing it” prepares the mind for the torrential rains of London, the heat of Malaga and the top players of the game. It really is the old platitude: No pain no gain. Millennium Series drops Turkey for 2010

Now its official, Millennium Series cuts Turkey and adjusts entry and sponsor fees to reflect having one event less. With even PSP doing only 4 events its about time MS woke up to the reality and cut its weekest event. Hopefully we might now have more teams able to attend in locked divisions but with just one month away from first event it remains to be seen.
