Millennium Series drops Turkey for 2010

Now its official, Millennium Series cuts Turkey and adjusts entry and sponsor fees to reflect having one event less. With even PSP doing only 4 events its about time MS woke up to the reality and cut its weekest event. Hopefully we might now have more teams able to attend in locked divisions but with just one month away from first event it remains to be seen.

2010 Events Update
PRESS RELEASE:
After listening to all involved parties including teams and sponsors it has become very clear that the global economic conditions are affecting this industry at every level. Whereas most companies want to fully support our series, the ability to spend as in previous years has been dented. This of course directly affects teams, many of whom are suffering from reduced budgets which reflect the current environment.

In addition to these issues we also have date clashes which, as always, we do our utmost to avoid.

Based on these points we have decided for 2010 only, to reduce our series to four top class events in order to help everybody work within their budgets.

Obviously entry fees and sponsorship costs will now reflect these changes. 2010 fees will now be:

CPL: €7000.00 + Vat (Prize fund reduced proportionally)
SPL: €5000.00 + Vat
Div 1: €4400.00 + Vat
Div 2: €1000.00 + Vat per event
Div 3: € 750.00 + Vat per event
M5: € 550.00 + Vat per event

Despite the reasons behind these changes we can assure everybody that the four events will be of a premium standard with every effort made to ensure a fantastic atmosphere and value for all.

The season will now run as follows:

Fuengirola Beach Cup – Malaga, Spain – 16th to 18th April 2010

Maxs Masters – Bitburg, Germany – 21st to 23rd May 2010-03-03

Campaign Cup – London, England – 2nd to 4th July 2010

Millennium Cup – Paris, France – 1st to 3rd Oct 2010

I think that even though we have been quite eager to express our opinions on the Millennium Series’ tendency to change its dates and decisions and venues and so on, I feel that this is an excellent decision at this point in time. Naturally, as the organization of the Turkish event last year was great, it would have been a fun event to play, but dropping one event is a good way to help everyone keep their costs reasonable.

Actually it didn’t rain in Campaign Cup 2009. Not even a single drop came down from the sky and the weather was really nice. Sorry to say but this swap will change the weather to worse :D …you know my friend, Mr. Murphy I mean ;)

…I was going to play in France but because of this I will play in London, again. But somebody please say that Millennium Cup is played like all the other tournaments? Having a three tournament series and a cup would not sound wise to my ears..
