SocialPaintball posted a huge, but unverified and sourceless rumor regarding Oliver Lang. According to the quick post, Oliver has signed a contract with Planet Eclipse, and thus would be leaving both the Ironmen and his position at DYE. Now THAT’s what I call a big move, almost as big as the original (rumoured to be 10-year) contract with DYE back in 2006. If it turns out to be true, that is – no mention of such a thing on PE official sources.

AlmostFamous paintball has posted up a mid-season clip of NuSkool Wrecking Crew, the team Kasimir has been practising with. The video itself is nothing earth-shattering, but it gives again a nice perspective to the different style of play across the pond. These kids are putting in a lot of time and effort, and we will surely hear of them in the future. Actually, there have already been little birds singing about one of the NuSkool kids in special, and as the chorus for that birdsong there has been the name of a well-established pro team.. Time will tell. Meanwhile, check out the clip below:

By stumbling around the internet video sites and being a fan of (or liking, as it now goes) everything on Facebook, you get mostly tons of pointless and repetitive c**p, kinda like your million TV channels with nothing good on, ever. Except for Family Guy. On rare occasions, however, something nice crosses your path.

DYE has posted a new part in their travel blog -series on youtube. This time Mikko and Rocky have been touring South Africa for a couple of weeks, doing clincs and meeting players in tournaments. They have also been able to spend some time surfing, on safaris and just chilling about. Cool stuff from South Africa, would be nice to head down there sometime.. Maybe to train with Johannesburg Dynamix?

Wow, as far as sponsorship goes, this one is big news! DYE has signed New England Hurricanes for a multtiple year-contract, how do you like them apples? Quite an aggressive move in the sponsorship front.. Nice to see what the Hurricanes’ custom NT will look like. Strategically the signing is a well thought-out move, as the Hurricanes have been catching a lot of attention with their extremely well produced “Birth of a Storm” documentary.
Good luck to the endeavour!

Ok, a busy week so it took a bit longer to get this done, sorry. Playing in Sweden always feels like a second home with so many friendly faces from over the years, and this time was no different. Overall, a super event. We started our trip straight from work on Friday driving to Turku to catch the late ferry to Sweden. A bit of poor sleep, and we could enjoy a buffet-style breakfast on the boat before it arrived to Stockholm at 6.30 in the morning. The only problem with that was that the captains’ meeting in Uppsala was scheduled at 7 am.. Luckily, with the trusty GPS and the grreat Swedish road system, we arrived on the venue at 7.45 am, a hefty 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the games. Nice.

Its always sad to see fields or stores closing down especially on such a small market like what we have here in Finland. Cool Games (Diehard) and people behind it where one of the driving factors to push tournament paintball forward in Finland. People with Cool Games worked for the passion for paintball but unfortunately working at your free time just for the love of the game doesn’t bring the bread to the table. Helsinki Cyclone would like to thank for the years we had together and all the support during that time. If you are looking for some cheap paintball items at closeout prices now is your chance as everything goes from the store this weekend. Please read below details in Finnish. Ash Chaplen:
Last night Dye precision Ltd’s European Office in Croydon, Surrey was broken into.
Most of the goods that were stolen were the NT’s and DM10’s and a few loaders and SLG’s.
The police have been called and a full investigation will be taking place.
At this point we would to call upon you guys, the paintball community to do whatever they can to help us in tracking down the stolen goods and the people responsible.
We ask you all keep your eyes and ears open and let us know of any “to good to be true deals” or from any unusual sources. These guns will no doubt appear, more than likely in the UK market.
Any information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and if it proves to be key in finding the goods and those that stole them, you will be rewarded appropriately.
The Guns Stolen Will Include Team PGA NTs… Also including some cosmetically Flawed Ano’d Nexus Teams guns that were to be returned and will be easily identifiable.
We thank you all for your co-operation and understanding at this time.
DYE Precision Ltd.
Should be quite easy to spot the NT’s if they appear as these are not your regular rental markers.
