Video update from NuSkool

AlmostFamous paintball has posted up a mid-season clip of NuSkool Wrecking Crew, the team Kasimir has been practising with. The video itself is nothing earth-shattering, but it gives again a nice perspective to the different style of play across the pond. These kids are putting in a lot of time and effort, and we will surely hear of them in the future. Actually, there have already been little birds singing about one of the NuSkool kids in special, and as the chorus for that birdsong there has been the name of a well-established pro team.. Time will tell. Meanwhile, check out the clip below:

Rare occasions..

By stumbling around the internet video sites and being a fan of (or liking, as it now goes) everything on Facebook, you get mostly tons of pointless and repetitive c**p, kinda like your million TV channels with nothing good on, ever. Except for Family Guy. On rare occasions, however, something nice crosses your path.

DYE has posted a new part in their travel blog -series on youtube. This time Mikko and Rocky have been touring South Africa for a couple of weeks, doing clincs and meeting players in tournaments. They have also been able to spend some time surfing, on safaris and just chilling about. Cool stuff from South Africa, would be nice to head down there sometime.. DYE signs NE Hurricanes!

Wow, as far as sponsorship goes, this one is big news! DYE has signed New England Hurricanes for a multtiple year-contract, how do you like them apples? Quite an aggressive move in the sponsorship front.. Nice to see what the Hurricanes’ custom NT will look like. Strategically the signing is a well thought-out move, as the Hurricanes have been catching a lot of attention with their extremely well produced “Birth of a Storm” documentary.

Good luck to the endeavour!

Nice vibes for May Day

In the past we did a post on Sawyer Smith, a young kid into paintball with his dad. Now PBLiveTV has had Sawyer do a bunch of Pro Player interviews for them, and at least I can’t help a grin sneeking up watching the video. The fun little interview sniplets boast a group of big-name players such as LA Ironmen’s Brandon Short, Scott Kemp and Mike Paxson as well as Junior Brown and Thomas Taylor from XSV. Check out the video below:

The Sweet Life – Dye Travel Blog

Dye has made a short but sweet video blog entry on their youtube channel. Dye had three of their guys – Mikko Huttunen, Rocky Cagnoni and Billy Wing - offering a three-hour mini clinic and the now famous “NT Experience” in Guadalajara, Mexico for the participants of the Mexican Paintball League.

‘Brothers in Paint’ – An Academic Paintball Videography

It’s about time to go live with this now, so here goes. As a researcher for the Aalto University School of Economics I was given the opportunity to explore conducting research on video a few years ago. At the time, it didn’t take long for my colleague and compatriot Joonas Rokka to identify an interesting context of consumer culture – yes, that would be paintball (at the time an utterly bizarre idea for me, fortunately I played along). Suddenly, I found myself being both the researcher and the researched.

More facts from Oliver Lang!

Oliver Lang has proven to be a great source of valuable facts on the off-season rumors that go around. We posted his first insightful video exposé here, and as he stated in that, he actually has moved to France and is actually quite fluent in French language already! It also turns out that I might be quite fluent as well, even though I’ve never even opened a french book.

Chek out the video below and be educated!

Rumor report by Oliver Lang!

Propaintball.com posted up a nice bit of information on the off-season transfers overseas. There seems to be a lot going on, and the effects of the chaotic dash for sponsorships is beginning to show.. Since there has been no announcements of any pro teams receiving a Smart Parts sponsorship, I think the story of one of the longest-running companies in paintball is clearly and undisputedly coming to an end. Albeit everyone is entitled to an opinion, the situation has left the former SP sponsored teams in a frantic search – and the larger effects of SP downfall may even have an effect on the leagues as well. Anyway, check out the transfers here!

Below, Ollie Lang shares his very interesting insights on the transfer rumor-mill on a video posted on Youtube – Hold on to your hat, this is hot stuff!
